Wood and Soda Pots

The Kazegama Kiln

Firing the Kazegama kiln is a beautiful act of surrender. Surrender to the flame, the wood and soda ash, and the unique movement inside the kiln with each firing. This is where the magic happens, surfaces transform, Earth like colors shift, and the fire leaves its unmistakable mark. After over thirty years of glazing and firing with intention and striving for a specific look, I have come into a glorious season of releasing control and allowing the atmosphere in the kiln to do It’s magic. It is a collaboration with nature itself, revealing beauty I could never have planned! These pots are not for everyone. They are loved by the discerning collector, one who Celebrates with me this collaboration.
